Which tires for 2004 autocross season?
Well, I've got my first track day at the end of March, 8 long weeks away and within 2 weeks of that the autocross season starts. Thanks to various mods (pulley) I'm in Street Mod so I just want the badest set of wheel/tire combo (no ho$$iers) that I can afford. I'm going with either a Kosei K1 Racing 15" or the AK Tire Monza 15" wheel. I've also settled on 225/50-15 tires.
Now the question, what tires are available and what tires will be available keeping in mind that I want to order and have the tires in my posetion by mid-march at the latest. I'm currently leaning towards the Kumho V700 Vicroracer but I know that the ECSTA V710 should be available very shortly, don't know about 225/50 though. I'll be competing in around 12 autocross events in '04 and around 4-5 track/driving school events. Are the Victoracers a better choice considering the number of heat cycles that my tires will face? Any other brands I should look at?
Regards,
Paul
Of the wheels listed I'd get the 15x7, K1's but since they are +38 offset I'd strongly suggest you get tires no bigger than 225/45/15. If the wheels were +45 you would have a better chance of fitting the 225/50's.
