Found it on Ebay? I know seen this for advertised in the back of magazines for BMW's. Anyone ever use it on their BMW or Mini? Does it work? TIA

Mini Reset Tool

I had a Peake R5/FCX tool for my E36 BMW, worked awesome and was very helpful in diagnosing problems. I would expect the R5/EMX for the MINI's OBDII port would be similarly useful. R5/EMX - for MINI I'd say this item will be in my toolbox soon enough - but defintely before my warranty runs out.
Here's another thing you can do if you want a more complicated,
but more capable system.
Get the ELM-ISO kit from scantool.net for $110

Or, without the box for $85
You can read the codes using their free software and a laptop.
Then, (If you are a programmer) you can get things like this:
Timing advance vs roadspeed:

Or this:
Coolant temperature

but more capable system.

That ELM-ISO kit looks to be the bomb. I have VAG-COMM for my wife's VW and it's very similar and works great. For a little more than the price of getting 1 out-of-warranty diagnostic done at the dealer I can do all sorts of stuff to the ECU, including pulling fault codes and resetting the check engine light.
