Sirius/XM customer (dis)service, worst ever?
My gawd, these people are bad. I am about to become their worst enemy and will devote my life to costing them customers after the way they have been treating me. I love the programming but the company and their customer service are THE worst.
Anyone else ever have a favorable experience with them?
Its a *long* story. I've had my lifetime subscriptions for 6 years now, but they are testing my loyalty, dealing with their customer service is *the worst* that I believe I have ever encountered.
The short version is that one of my radios was stolen out of my Mini on Saturday. Call to suspend it while I track down a replacement since they no longer sell Sirius radios, and they give me the round around beyond all run arounds. Multiple incidents of getting hung up on while "transferring me" to different departments, multiple conflicting stories about what I can do, getting told that I will have to purchase a new lifetime subscription to activate a new radio, several attempts to upsell me to an XM subscription to replace my Sirius acct, etc.
Like I said, the programming has been fine, but I will cancel before I have to spend another penny with them or deal with their customer service folks on the phone.

Working with XM/Sirius has always been a long term project. First you deal with someone who doesn't have the authority, but merely takes the information. Then you have to deal with a "closer" who tries to upsell you or talk you out of canceling the service. Their web site is not very helpful either.
They are the worst in my eyes, I have had them for better then 9 years, and I switch cars ever 2 or so years, they cant get any information straight, then when they merged with XM forget it, they cant see each other accounts, if it were not for all t he traveling I do, I would get rid of them, but I enjoy all the stations on long trips, just wish they could get there act together. On another note I recieved an email today about a class action lawsuit against them, about pricing I believe.
I've done two three year contracts with them. My renewal came up in March of this year and now they wanted $157 plus for one year. I told them I wasn't interested, they then offered it to me for $73.00. i told them i would have to think about it, they said I would only have twenty four hours to decide. Well my subscription wasn't up for another week so, I let it go. Then the day before it was set to expire I called them. They said the deal was off. So i said fine and let it go. Then in April they sent me a letter saying they wanted me back for $133.00 I said no thanks, the women paused after I told her the deal I was already offered. She contacted a supervisor and they gave me the deal they said had already expired for the next year. I really like Pandora better but with living in the mountains, XM is the way to go.
It is so sad and frustrating to have a good service (I like the Sirius programming) be ruined by awful customer service and constant upsells. Take Netflix, they have a great service, but have stellar customer service...Everyone loves them and they continue to be successful. Take SiriusXM...horrible customer service, it will cause people cancel just because it SUCKS talking to them..And why they have to charge me $15 just to change radios?! ****** You! That should be part of the deal!
And this new business about only selling XM radios and getting rid of the only good Sirius radios (the Stiletto line) is CLEARLY a way to maximize revenue to get people to pay for the "best of Sirius" to upgrade to the Howard Stern channels (which is where a good chunk of their subscribers go, it is for me). This is totally a scammy way to get the ARPU up.
Anyway that's my rant! I drive a 100+ miles per day and take frequent road trips to areas where data streaming is not possible and LOVE being able to listen to Sirius. Why does the company seem to go out of its way to **** off its customers? It is just maddening!?
