'03 xenon switch to halogen

I have the xenon (non-projector) headlights in my MCS and just want to switch to regular halogen bulbs. I was researching that the wires are different (4 wire vs 3 wire) So can this be done at all? This is to get brighter halogen bulbs that actually put out more light.

Thanks

Just curious, did you ever get new bulbs, or just feel old one suck. My current lights dont have a very far throw, but I am assuming it is because the bulbs are possibly 10 years old.

My 2003 vw with projector xenons has original bulbs and I konw for a fact they are not as bright as they used to be when I got the car new.

Are there many options for bulbs? this might be the case. My brother just put some 65w Halogens in his R32 and they are about 60% brighter than the factory 55w halogens.

The previous owner of my car took out the originals and replaced them with some cheap ebay junk that was like 29 bux for x2.

From what I have read, make sure you get the real deal, Philips for these.

He had the old bulbs, one was philips and the other was also a no-name generic. Even though they were at least 5 years if not older, they were better than the brand new ones.

The "normal" OEM Xenon bulbs are considered to be 35Watt. They are White or Diamond White at about 5000K. When you are the oncoming traffic, they are pretty bright and when you are the driver they work very well. Xenon bulbs can wear out and are not as effective as new. There are 55Watt bulb replacements, but they should be saved only for high beam or off road applications as they will blind oncoming traffic, but will light up everything infront of you. You can get a lot of information off, believe it or not, eBay. Start researching your lights by getting the replacement bulb designations off Sylvania.com.
I replace my (low in the front bumper) fog lights on my 05MCS (H11s) with Xenon and they are great. There are no LEDS yet that penetrate darkness well, but they are very good marker lights.
