Changing oil today...need some advice

Tried posting this question in the How To section but it hasn't gone through.

I decided to change my oil today and the parts store didn't have enough of the Mobil 1 5W30 Full Synthetic oil so I bought Mobil Super 5W30 Full Synthetic. Does anyone know the difference and will it effect my engine performance a great deal? Here is what the back of the bottle said when comparing the two...

Thanks for your help!

Jake

It's oil. It's not going to change your performance perceptibly.
They obviously have the 'super synthetic' as a 'tweener' product. IMO, use it for 5K, then buy the Mobil 1 before you plan to change the oil.

If it were me, I'd find the oil I want. Then again, I usually keep a bunch on hand in case I get the itch (and when it goes on sale at Costco.)

In the real world, your life will not be inexorably altered by using the tweener, but if you wake up in a cold sweat because you had a nightmare about engine startup friction and deteriorating additive packages, "I told you so"

Next on the OCD list, are you using an OEM filter?

How often do you change the oil? The long life rating MINI wants you to use is all about the oil lasting forever........ If you are changing it at 10,000 miles or less and a year or less than any Mobil "synthetic" product is excellent.
