Are the alignment specs for the R53 and R56 the same?

I had a local shop install four tires and align my car. They chipped and scraped my rims and used the alignment specs for an R56, my car is a 2006 R53. Is there much of a difference between the R56 and R53 for alignment?

The tire store is trying to deny the damage, but has now offered to pay for resurfacing.

Here are some pictures of the damage:

Not much difference in alignment specs.

I think it is a fair deal to have the damaged redone to your satisfaction by a professional shop.

Are the new tires run-flats? The shop needs to man up and accept responsibility for the damage done to your rims.

The tires that were on the rims were the original run flats, they were in bad shape with 61,000 miles. The new tires are not run flats.

Not looking to make excuses for the poor job, but many tire shops just aren't properly equipped to deal with removing/mounting run-flats, with their very stiff sidewalls. Their insurance should cover getting rid of the rash on the wheels. Your MINI will feel a lot better with the non run-flat tires, that's for sure! You sure got your money's worth out of the OEM tires, with 61k miles!

I have had similar wheel damage problems with two different tire stores. Not just with run flats.

The first tire store said there is no way they caused the damage, even though there was similar damage on all four wheels. My insurance company replaced the wheels and said they would not spend the effort to go after the tire store.

The second tire store did not deny they caused the damage but instead blamed poor clearcoating on the wheel. In this case the damage was only to the clear coat and metal of the wheel was not damaged.
