car cover question

My garage has been a fish room for over 5 years, so I currently have to park the cars in the driveway. Pollen is impossible this time of year, but my main concern is an oak tree that drops tons of acorns on the drive each fall. I'm wondering if a cover for the mini would be a good idea. I haven't used a cover since my first new car, when I was living in a condo...and that got pretty old. Any recommendations on specific covers available...or other ideas? I'm not even sure a cover would give much protection against acorns...may need to lose the tree.

.... or lose the fish, and get the car back where it belongs.

A thick cover would probably protect the car from acorn dents; might depend on how big the acorns are and the height they're falling from though. I do know that thick covers don't offer much protection from large size hail.

Most car cover instructions also advise not to apply the cover on a dirty car; thus, I rarely use my covers. There is a handy partial cover for MINIs that covers only the top and glass areas, but offers no protection for the bonnet.

I use a car cover most of the time on my MINI when at work, but a car cover is not going to be much help to for falling nuts. I found out the hard way with a hickory tree and a Maxima.
A GOOD cover, WeatherShield or StormProof, is a good option to keep pollen and bird poop off the car but there is not really a decent cover which will help with impact.

What car covers are you guys using? The off-the-shelf ones at autozone, etc... look like they are all too big, even the smallest size.

Speaking of car covers....I wish I had one right now. I just looked out the window and we're in the middle of a massive hailstorm. I think my new Mini is about to end up looking like a golfball.

Fortunately this is covered under comprehensive so my insurance rates won't go up.

Miami: Custom fit car covers like the those made by Covercraft (the WeatherShield mentioned in post #3 above is a Covercraft).
