My Mini will have its last free service next week. Should I expect at least new pads with the computer indicating rear brake service due in 900 miles? Or should I take a trip this weekend to try to get the indicator down to 500 miles?

 

Drive around with the ebrake on till your service

 

They won't do it until it is due.
Place the miles on it, have fun, and save some money with the free brakes.

 

They will replace them if they are within 2000 miles so you can go whenever and get your service done.

 

My last free service will come up in June (I've only used 1 free service though, after my 2nd year) and my brake indicator shows 30,000 miles left on the front brakes and 32,000 miles on the rear brakes.
