We just bought a lightweight travel trailer...1300 lbs empty, maybe 2000 pounds max.

Due to our current "vehicle portfolio", the MINI might have to be sold and turned into a car that can tow a good 1500-2000 pounds.

So I'm wondering...

Is there a car that is fun/competitive for Solo II that can also tow 1500 pounds? WRX?

Now I know almost ANY vehicle can safely tow 1500 lbs (heck, in Europe, a Toyota Yaris is rated to tow 2200 lbs!), but I'd like the car to be officially rated from the manufacturer in the U.S.A. to have a 1500-2000 lb tow rating...this for insurance reasons.

I talked to our agent and he said that if we have an accident while towing something heavier than the tow rating from the vehicle's manufacturer, we run the risk of not being covered...a small risk (as long as we are not doing anything REALLY stupid (like towing 10,000 pounds with a MINI, say), but still, a risk.

Anyway, thoughts?
