17x8 et 38 mm with 235/40/17?
I got an email from the vendor saying the only available Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels are:
17x8 et38 4x100
Will these fit a R56 dropped about 1.3-1.4" with 235/40/17 tires? Or do I have to bring down the tires to 215/40/17?
Any one running these specs? please suggest!

It's a wide tire and wheel but more or less stock tire diameter overall so a little negative camber in the back would help but you might not really need it if you can keep drop on the reasonable side.
I think you will be fine with the 235/40-17 tires and 17x8 rims.
Ask the wheel vendor if the rims will fit the 14mm wheel bolts on the R56 OK.
