Got my wife a mini now I want to trade cars with her

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I recently bought my wife a used 2006 mini cooper S to get around town. I never really had much interest in Mini Coopers until I drove this car and now I am hooked! It is so much fun to drive. I have been trying to get her to trade cars with me but she refuses, she loves it! I have to settle with borrowing it here and there on the weekends.

It is a good car but it is used and has a few issues that I need to address. So I should have some "how-to" questions soon. The first things I need to tackle are replacing the Rotars, the radiator fan and the lower control arm bushings.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

You might as well trade your vehicle for a Mini. I am sure the Wifey wont part with her new ride.

The trick now will be to get the JCW, so she'll be jealous and want your car :D

holy deja vu!

I experienced the same exact phenomenon last year in April (almost the one-year anniversary today)..and hers was an '06 MCS also...

so I went out and bought my own 2010 MCS on May 1st!!

(and this is after I dissuaded her from buying a mini-cooper for years! lol)

Ditto- bought her a 2010 S becuase I didn't want to won the Bug she wanted. I pretty much took over the car and then traded it for an 2011 JCW.
I have no idea how fun the MINI's coould be. They need to do better marketing because I read all the car mags and thought it was just another small economy car. It now see's track days and my Maserati for exotic events and long road trips.

Yep I am really tempted! I have a few more months to pay on my mazda 3 (boring) and then I am seriously going to look in to it. The JWC sounds about right but then that is going to start a performance war right in my own house. She could not even drive 6 months ago now she is tearing up the road in a manual S that has been modified.!!

Just go ahead and buy one now, you might as well start enjoying it.

Ha I let a co-worker (Mazda3 owner) drive my GP (sober driver that could drive 6 speed) and said he thought his car was sporty. 4 months later he got a MCS.
