2011 R56 DDM Race System

Hello everyone,
I just went from an 08 R56 to an 11R56 and am interested in the DDM Race Intake. I read up that the 2011 model needs 2 holes drilled. I have contacted DDM but no response yet. They didn't go into detail where the holes need to be drilled. I just want to see if anyone has any info on this subject.

I also wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with water. Since I live in Miami, FL I have to account for any issues with water.

I called DDM last week and was told they will be updating their instructions in a week or two. The update will let us know where to drill.

I just got a response to where the holes need to be drilled. I thought you needed to drill on the under bonnet, but that is not the case. The Location of the bolts that hold the lid into the lower portion of the intake have been changed. There for 2 holes need to be drilled on the intake they sell now. They are working on production so that the 2011 have the pre-drilled holes in the correct location.

I've had my DDM RIS for about 42,000 miles now. You don't need to worry about water. The lower part of the factory airbox, which is still used by the DDM RIS, has a hole drilled in it. As long as you check that it isn't plugged up with rocks and grit you'll be fine. You'd have to stick a garden hose in your hood scoop to cause real concern for sucking in a damaging volume of water into the intake. A marginal amount of water dropletsi sn't going to hurt anything.
