Hi, my girlfriend just picked up a 2009 Clubman S and I was wondering what tires seem to work well on them. She drives about 85 miles a day so tread wear is important. She tends to push what ever she drives somewhat hard so they should be kinda sticky. We live in upstate New York so they may see some snow in the spring and fall. (It has winter tires on it now so thay can go back on in the fall). Thanks for any input.

Also I have seen a few post about people running 205/55/16 insted of the 195/55/16. What are the pros and cons to the size change?

 

Tread wear and stickiness are kind of at odds with each other, as I understand. There's going to be a trade-off either way.

You didn't mention if you want to go runflat or non-runflat. That's a pretty important distinction since there are many more choices in non-runflat.

Finally, the size change is pretty small, so she probably won't really notice a difference unless she's on the track or auto-x. There may be different options in the different sizes. There's a lot of good information generally-speaking, here:
