Polishing glazed headlights with a PC and Prima products?
My wife's van was totaled last night and we found a replacement vehicle we like but it's headlights are hazy, from the Vegas sun no doubt.
I have a PC and the full set of Prima polishes. Will those work to get the haze out? I've heard of folks wet sanding with 1500 paper but I've never done that and am hesitant to try...my history is that I always tend to overdo it.
I was thinking of just making having the dealer do it as part of the haggling but in case they won't...

I have polished headlights on other cars, my sons' 300M & F150.
Most of the Prima products did not do much even with wet sanding. Maybe a problem with the technique.
I found plastic polish worked the best and got the lights back to looking new. I had some old Novis plastic polish that worked great. I used the PC and a polishing pad with the Novis.

Prima Swirl on a rotary with an LC Orange Pad works great to remove hazing and yellowing of headlights. It can be done with a PC too, but it really depends on how bad the headlights are. Best to use a smaller pad..3" or 4" pads with the appropriate backing plate on the PC for best results.
Are they glass or plastic?
Glass you can go to town on them, plastic takes some skill, you can make them worse.
If you don't wet sand, then use a cutting pad with a compound. You need a rotary, or a lot, lot of time with a PC DA. Use a harder/dense clay first.
Other times, you might get lucky & find there is clear bra film on them, you just got to remove it. Or even a medium polish can bring back a lot of life.
