Minor oil leak - pictures - where is it coming from?

I have done my own work on older vehicles (71 Lotus Elan. Triumph TR6 etc) in my day but I am not familiar with the layout of the Mini engine and have no shop book. My wife's car started leaving an unsightly stain on the recently power washed condo garage floor (probably not going to be popular with the neighbors!) So I took a look at the bottom of the engine to see what was up.

Two phone pics attached of what I saw - any ideas what's up / and what is that bit of gear in the close up I am looking at that's covered in oil? Many thanks for any help.............. Gary

Looks like seepage from the lower end of the PS hose from the reservoir to the pump.....a some what common issue.

New hose and clamp in order here.

The hose is referred to as Intake Manifold part No. 1 here.

And need a hose clamp: HOSE CLAMP - D=20,9-24

Many thanks for the diagram and that does indeed look like the culprit. The oil appears to be coming from the lower end of the hose.

Best wishes .......... Gary
