2008 MCS Convertible 1 GEN Headlights

I know that the Gen 1 body uses H7 lights. To replace both the HI and Low beams will I need a total of 4 H7 bulbs?

Yes!

I would recommend these:

They are truly impressive for a legal wattage bulb... none of the blue, silver, piaa, etc horse hockey, just bright white light.

Be sure to post up your impressions when you get them

Hopefully the life is decent.

I can't say enough about the X-treme Powers. If your bulb life stinks with the Osrams, you might want to give them a try next time.

The X-Treme power bulbs are excellent, but the ralley bulbs are even better. That's because they're really an H9 bulb on an H7 base. A true 2100 lumens but with the same life as a regular H7. The extreme bulbs won't last as long and won't put out quite as much light as the 65 watt rally bulbs. I bought a pair for my high beams and they're excellent. (Lows are HID.)

OP: If you have the HID option, you'll only need two bulbs (for the high beams.) Otherwise, go ahead and get 4. You won't be disaapointed. And the stock wiring will handle the extra 10 watts per bulb just fine. Though technically illegal, they're really the best option for upgrading.

And yea! on no blue tint! (That little bit of blue at the tip of the xtreme bulbs doesn't really count. FYI).

Great info - thanks. I put H4 X-tremes in my wife Jeep recently (along with new lamps), so I knew what a good bulb they are, but the Rally bulbs sound intriguing... albeit a little illegal.

BTW, the X-tremes I just got don't have that blue "marketing" stripe anymore...
