Inspection #2 coming up (did research a lot)
I have done a lot of reading and learned a lot from you guys and what should be done for the following inspection, although i am a student, and the inspection is coming up accroding to my obc in 150 miles, i just got the car month ago from a private party and he mentioned most if not all services have been done at one of the dealers, Universal Mini in socal to be exact. he did the tranny flush already and i just changed my oil and all the filters last week, i dont have the money and wouldnt go to the dealer to spend $600 plus for so called inspection, car is very well maintained and runs smooth, any advice what else? i think i will do plugs soon. i know everyone has a different advice and i respect that, thanks
Not knowing the original owner and absent documentation not sure I would trust what the prior owner said.....,
Inspect and check all fluids, brakes - measure disks, Belt, inspect coolant tank/cap, thermostat, Oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, crank sensor O- ring, main crank bearing seal, battery, plug wires, power steering hoses/clamps, exhaust hangars/brackets, inspect wheels/tires, run injector cleaner thru system, grease door hinges, lubricate sunroof, replace wiper inserts F/R, microfilter, intake filter...just to name a few.

yea i did have the paper work with the original contract from where they bought it and he was a lawyer, im gonna give the dealer a call to see if i can get some history on it either way thanks for some info
oil change done, air filter, cabin filter done, tires are in good condition, break rotors and pads are ok, still have lots of life, im still trying to get familiar with the car and finding great information on here. thanks

That dealership has the service records on the car, so you might start there to get the service history. What items to check and service (depending on which inspection is due) are in the owner's service record booklet in owner's packet. Whatever you don't do yourself can be done by a dealer or an independent shop, but MINI's don't seem to like having their needs ignored.
