iPhone4, Bluetooth lost connection: every day

Hi folks. I've looked and looked throughout the fora and haven't found the solution to this problem:

For some reason, I have to reset my 2009 Mini Cooper S's iPhone4 Bluetooth connection every day. I'm on a conference call each morning on the way to my office and each day, the Mini fails to detect my iPhone until I perform the following steps:
  1. on the iPhone, go to "settings"
  2. go to "general"
  3. go to "bluetooth"
  4. switch to "off" (under "devices," the Mini is shown and the little iPhone "working" wheel is always turning. It strikes me that this might be somehow the root of this problem.)
  5. go back to "settings)
  6. push the "home" button
  7. wait about 30 seconds.

Only then does my iPhone appear on the Mini screen. And even then, the phone book, the last eight calls, etc. are empty.

Anyone else have this problem?

thanks for any guidance you might offer.

Odd connection quirks with the iPhone sometimes get straightened out with deleting both devices from each other, a hard power off/on of the iPhone, and then complete re-pairing. Sometimes, just a hard reboot (power off/on or battery removal) of the iPhone is enough.

iPhone battery removal requires complete dis-assembly of the iPhone. Good luck with that!

I would think unpairing and powering down, repowering up and repairing should work but you could always unpair and hold the home and power button for 6-8 seconds and do a good reset on the phone. You won't lose anything, just a decent reset.

Did you say you were on the phone already when you enter the car, or you needed to do that to make the call?

If you are already on the phone, and when you get in you cant hear the call through the phone or the mini, try looking on your phones call screen where it would normally say speaker.. If you can get the devices screen, switch it to to handset or speaker (basically any device its not currently on) wait 10 seconds, then switch it back to Mini...
