As my new JCW will be at port tomorrow I need to get my current Mini back to stock so I can return it.

I, or an old friend, spray painted my wheels with Matte Black Rustoleum.

Initially I had thought I would have to buy new wheels when the time came to return it.

However one time I brought it to a dealership for maintenance and they washed the car for me. When they rolled it out, nearly all but a few flakes of paint were all the rims without harming at all the natural silver color of the rims. I'm certain they didn't work it hard, maybe just hit it with a brush and some kind of wonder cleaner/chemical. Any ideas what they may have used?

Probably wheel acid. Used to use it when I worked at a dealer... stuff is serious. If they were all black when they went in, I have no doubt it was something like acid... degreaser is pretty mild and tends to not do much, even to rattle can jobs

 

I'll give that a try. Can you pick that up at your local autoparts store?

 

ive never seen it. We got it from a Jax Wax rep who delivered it in 5 gallon buckets, along with the barrels for tire shine and degreaser lol.

Take it back in and tell them to finish the job lol
