Very Early '59 Mini!

Quote:
Austin chassis number A/AS27-108 the 8th Austin Seven Mini built. The oldest unrestored Mini in the world!

Built on 15th May 1959 known as the first pre-launch hand built car made that day, and dispatched to Car Mart in Colchester 31st July. A Farina Grey De-Luxe, 108 has had two owners from new and been in it’s current ownership since 1986.
Off the road since 1985 it is in very original unmolested condition but will require a full restoration. The front subframe and engine all matchint numbers, were removed in 1986 to gain access to the inner wings and do remain with the car. A replacement drivers door aside 108 appears very complete with only a few small items having been replaced over the years.

Only two earlier Austin’s are so far known to exist, HUE 627 and KEG 77 are both in Japan so 108 could be the earliest Austin in Europe. Comes with original registration number and a host of paperwork including the heritage certificate, this a rare opportunity to buy a very early Mini.
Car located in Chichester, West Sussex area UK.

Hell, I own a body shop and I'll pass as well. Just not feeling the love. Could be a great project for someone with very deep pockets! Not sure you'd ever recoup your investment. That's one neglected little car.

Wow what a piece of history. Sad that once restored there will be very little left from the original Mini. The price is out of this world too. Good luck to the seller. I too will pass on this one.
