I have a JCW cabrio that does not have a auto dim mirror and I am searching for one. The question I have Is if anyone knows whether this is a simple plug n play thing. Can I just remove the existing mirror and stick the auto dim on? Doesn't it need power of some kind and is it prewired?

Lastly - is the auto dim unit the same across years 06-09 or before?

Anyone have the part number I should be looking for?

Its not quite plug and play, but it sounds do-able. I am planning on adding the mirror with homelink (garage door opener) at some point down the road. Here is a thread that describes the retrofit.
