Not trying to be rude....but please read the Stock Problems/Issues part of the forum. This is one of the most widespread issues with the R56

Seafoam might help (I have done it twice now). My service manager has told me to change the oil regularly and drive the **** out of it and no carbon will build up.

Curious. There are those who think that changing the oil often might make the carbon build-up problem worse, not better. Something about constantly replenishing the most volatile components of the oil, which are the first parts to get pushed out of the crankcase and into the PCV system.

Um, please search next time, there are plenty of threads about this, no need to start a new one FCOL.

Rubino - Did a search for you. Here is what I found & it appears to be a widespread issue on R56 MINIs.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...archid=6378566

I remember when people used to help each other on this site. Guess that has changed for some people. One more reason folks are moving on to the other MINI site.
