I've had plenty of time to ponder mods while waiting on delivery of a 2011 hardtop with the HK upgrade, and I'm curious if anyone has installed an equalizer in a similar ride. I had several test drives in an HK-upgraded coupe, which sounded reasonably good -- but I'm appalled at the lack of tone controls on the factory head unit (just bass and treble?) and wondering if I'll get used to the slightly mushy bass. Perhaps the sound in my particular beast will be tighter; we'll see.

So... any experiences with added EQ (or CleanSweep?) to the current HK system?

 

Neither of those would be easy on the the HK System as the amp itself has built in active crossovers. Not saying it will not work but will much harder to set up and maintain.
