help! vmaxx coilovers!

Ok so my brand new vmaxx coiovers went in like butter yesterday no problems at all... Went to go put stock s lites back om and didn't even come close to fitting without hitting the spring.. I used 2 1/8th inch spacers and still rubbing on the coil spring... Has anyone experienced this problem before on any coilover and if so a remedy for it? I mean I might have to go adapters but they are soooo wide. Help opinions please. Thank you all!!

Not an uncommon problem.
You will probably need wheel spacers or wheels with a different offset.
Two 1/8" spacers is about the same as 6mm so it appears you need a larger spacer than 6mm.
The common sizes of wheel spacers that fit the Mini are 5, 12, 15, 16, and 20mm. Thus you will need to decide what width you need for your wheel and spring combination. Probably around 10mm which is not available because of the hub design. Here is a link to one place that has many sizes.

You also need to be careful not to add too much spacer or your rear tire will rub on the outside (at the wheel arch).

One problem when you add spacers is that you will also need longer lug bolts or will need to switch to studs and lug nuts.

It will. All the way up STILL puts the collar like right at the tire, and then the ride is BOUNCY as heck. also pointless to have coilovers all the way up lol

OP you must have some wide tires on there?? I had some huge tires that stuck over my Bridgespokes and had to use 5mm spacers with my old VMaxx;s.

I guess 17s are still a wider rim than my old 16s. Youll probably need some 12mm spacers (I think thats about the next size available). On the bright side it'll push the wheels out to a much better looking spot.

These are nice.

Don't forget to pick up longer lug bolts when you get thicker spacers or you risk the possibility of your wheels falling off!

it depends on your stock wheels/tires. what size wheels/tires you running?

from what i gather, most people running stock 16s with stock tires do have rubbing issues because of the fat tires.

however, heres me with stock slites, 205/40/17 all around. this is with the collar down as much as possible without rubbing.

and heres my car again with 5mm spacers in front, lowered with about 1 inch thread left on the coils.
