Window off track, falls down into door!

2003 Mini
Ok, I've had the problems of my window (driver side only) randomly deciding to not roll down. Yes, I do the trick where you slam the door or bang on it while pressing the window button at the same time and it always works.

Here's my problem though....
I think I banged it too hard and now the window is off track and falls down into the door. It was in the "up" position so it only falls down about 3 inches. The motor works still. I can hear it trying to move the window, but it's just not on the track anymore. How can I fix this myself? I know how to take the door panel off but once I do that, any advice on a fix? Hopefully an easy one. I am a cheap girl who won't take it to the stealership and don't know much about cars (I am learning alot though with all of my Mini problems!)
Thanks!

Chances are this time the cable is broken and you'll need to replace the window regulator. Good luck.
If you pull the panel off, try and tug on the cables. normally they are tight, but i think you might find them pretty loose, which means you'll need the regulator.
