Tow the mini an hour away for a diagnostic test
Hello there,
a series of amazing fantastic things have happened to my mini. CVT belt broke into pieces, another part that works with the sport shifting worn out, another part I forgot already what's purpose it served also repaired. Everything put back to gether. Car showing EP. Doesn't pass 3000 rpm. The trans was put on correctly so it can't be a trans sensor. However my father ran it with a computer and its not a mini computer just a general computer i guess which showed second solenoid/valve no pressure 0% well my dad takes the solenoid out and tests it for current, then guess what? There is current.
SO now we are at a stand still, so i gotta tow the mini to shaumburg, an hour. ABout 500.00 to tow. SO i called around where i live, ROckford area, and no one has a computer to hook up too. SOO any ideas before I proceed further? THanks!

Hmmm...We are about 60 miles west of Rockford. I'm sure there is someone that can look at it. As long as they have an OBDII scanner, they should be able to read the codes, I believe.
Any mechanic worth their salt will know a lot about the possible problems before even running a scan on it if you tell him what went wrong.
I would find someone with a tandem trailer and have them take it to Schaumburg if you want to go to the MINI dealer. I would if it was in warranty. If not, I'd find a good independent shop. Post in the Chicago Minis forum and see if anyone can help you further. Good luck with it!
