16-inch MINI steel wheels

hey everyone, i inquired with my local dealer about getting the silver 16" steel wheels from the parts dept and this is the response i got:

"If this is for a clubman S. You CAN NOT put steels on it. YOU must put Alloys on it. The clubman was not designed to run on steel rims there is too much torque.
If your interested the snow tire package for this car is $2095.00 installed + tax. This package comes with 4 alloy rims _style_ R90 and 4 runflat snow tires Dunlop wintersport 3D size 195/55r16 87v"

really?!? what do the experts here know? i know the bolt pattern is the same, is the hub size the same? are the bolt hole sizes the same? offset? I already have rubber, i just need wheels. And i'm in canada, hence the $2095.
these are the wheels i'm after:

thanks all!

Hey - we're on our second Mini-Cooper S convertible, using steelies for winter for 5 years now. The dealer is lying to you, the engines are the same across the lines, so a Clubman S doesn't have anymore torque then a Mini-Cooper S.

The 16'' steelies fit, you should use that instead of mags if there`s any significant amount of snow - or want to save as significant amount of money

another option which i forgot to post (unless you are adamant on steel) is just get some Bridgespokes off of the Classifieds. Can be had very very cheap (sometimes less than steelies, and most certainly less than any dealer)
