I want to transplant the Sirius & FM internals (wiring) into OEM 04 Sat Nav Antenna cover. I just recently purchased the OEM 04 Sat Nav Antenna for my GP and had it painted Pure Silver. It was a steep price like $187, but it was the cheapest price of all the West Coast dealers and there was only 4 in the world left. I want to gut my GP's antenna internals (FM) and OEM Siruis Antenna so I can place them in the OEM 04 Sat Nav Antenna cover. Any tips, suggestions or help would be welcome. TIA

 

Hmmm, good question. The Nav cars have the FM antenna embedded in the rear passenger window.

 

I will buy some zip lock bags and tools to unfasten antennas to take a looksie.

 

I believe all US spec MINI (whether Nav or not) have a rear window diversity antenna in addition to the roof antenna. A circuit selects which one is receiving a better FM signal.

 

No FM on oem roof Nav antenna for 2004 models not sure for any other year. It only has Sat Nav and Moble Tele. FM is on right rear window. But I want the FM antenna wiring in the 2004 Sat Nav antenna.

 

I wasn't aware of that. Maybe it was a facelift change. In any case, those roof antennas with a mast are FM antennas, and cars that have them also have a diversity antenna in the rear window.
