Car Lighter Problems. Fuse?
Car Lighter Problems. Fuse?
My wife used the car a few days back and told me our AUX wire flew into the cigarette lighter and caused a bunch of sparks but seemed to be fine.
We have an R50 2006 just in case they differ between models.
I tried to charge my GPS today and I had no power, thinking it may be the wire I tried to charge my phone with the same results.
Now I've been looking around and I assume it's a blown fuse. Does anybody have a picture DIY or something, I ain't the most adept person when it comes to cars and I rather have visuals to help me out.
Any help would be great.

On the left side of the footwell you will find a panel. Remove the cover. On the cover is printed what each fuse is for. The cigarette lighter will look like a smoking cigarette. Use the amps to confirm you have the correct one.
ie. If the fuse amps go

you can count and confirm you have the right one.
At the bottom of the fuse box, under the cover with the fuses is a tweezers that will help you get the fuse out. It is stored in a little hole, but sticks out about a half inch. It will look out of place like a plastic tab, pull it out to remove the fuse. Push a new one in.
Hope that helps. (PS if you are a large person, this will be even more fun)
