Replacing head unit with HK upgrade...

So, I've run into what is probably a familiar problem to you guys...installed a new head unit with the factory Harman Kardon amp and speakers, and now I have no sound. I've been told this is because my head unit doesn't talk to the amp, but I'm not too sure what to do about it. I apologize in advance if there is already a thread about this, after looking I didn't see one addressing this particular problem...

The HK HU & AMP must exchange data signals to work. Unless you're an electronics wiz. Been there done that (BTDT) after the HK AMP kept failing in my 03 R53. When I bought my 06 R53 I ordered a normal head unit, bought an aftermarket amp & sub (Less than HK system) and wow! HK System was a waist of $$.

Ian Cull (GBMINI) developed the circuit and wrote about it in his blog: http://www.gbmini.net/wp/2004/06/min...roductionized/
