Gas Peddle Travel Excessive - New Car Adjustments....
New 2010 MIN 600 miles on her so far. Got an automated email from the dealer the other day already saying it is time for service for any minor adjustments I may want.
There are these 4 items I wonder if they can be adjusted:
1) Gas peddle travel seems excessive before it engages.
2) Slight ticking from the engine valve tappets at idle.
3) Bonnet does not latch fully on driver's side unless closed very firmly.
4) Boot gaps side to side different.
Are these items just normal for a MINI or not? Adjustable or not?

The gas pedal deadzone is similar in feeling to my BMW. It just takes some getting used to. There's really no adjustment to it. You will notice that as you drive it more, you'll get used to it and won't be so "jerky". The sport button does help this condition, but it is still a drive by wire system and not a mechanical adjustment.
Have been staying out of sport mode until the magic 1,200 mile break-in point. Have used the slap stick - like the way you can leave it in slap stick and get higher RPM automatic shifts.
Will have to try it in sport mode - pretty big dead zone. My 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD Diesel is also drive-by-wire but has a very small "dead-zone" in the gas peddle throw. So when I go from it to the wife's MINI only on occasion, it takes some getting used to trying to get smooth starts. It's either that or just stab it and go.

We actually sold her PT Cruiser several weeks before the MINI landed, so she went from a PT, to driving "the beast" diesel crew cab for 3 or 4 weeks, to a MINI.
