My wife has almost been killed three times now pulling into traffic. It doesn't stall occasionally, it stalls every day. She is afraid to drive the car and has been borrowing my car for the past two months to go to work.

Our dealer keeps promising us that it will be fixed however, they never call us and this board is my only source of information.

Her car is the automatic version. I see multiple post here about manual cars supposedly being fixed now, however nothing on the automatics.

Anyone know?

I do not know about the stalling issue, but it is supposed to stop the jerky idle as well as improving the throttle response from a standstill.

Pat at http://wms.bayminis.com is a Mini Tech and knows the skinny on it. I'd ask him.

Be aware the site is under construction, but his contact info there works.

Just noticed you are a floridian. If you are not on SSM please follow the link below and sign up, then look in the performance thread for cd 36 stuff.

If you have a 2002 MINI, and you haven't had any software updates, you need to go to your dealer and get the current software installed. I had an 02 CVT and it took 6 trips to the dealer and almost as many software updates to finally get it right. I had the stalling your wife is experiencing as well as lurching and just all over rough idling.

Who is your dealer?

It is! I just posted in the other v36 thread about my CVT and it stalling. I had the update done in October and all seems to be ok. Of course when I had the update prior to this it didn't stall for 4 months, but it still ran poorly. Now she runs much smoother and there is not an idle issue (which I believe may have been linked to the stalling). I am hoping for 6 months of clean driving though before I fully believe. Just being cautious as we all have heard this before

We own a 2003 Mini with CVT. We had what is being called "Stumble".
It was not a big issue but it was an issue. I replaced the air filter with a
K&N Air Filter. This gave the Vehicle more air getting to the Engine and actually
adds a little more HP. I also installed a Tornado Air product . This also increased
the air flow to the engine. The result was great. The "Stumble" was no longer
an issue. These installations do not void the Warranty and the Total cost
was Appx. $140.00. Very easy to install these youself. Also noticed a 2-3 MPG
increase.
