Hey guys, just filled up my JCW with gas and noticed the distance to empty showed over 600..Wow! I've seen a bit over 500 before, but nothing anywhere near 600 (Was 605 at fillup, down to 603 when I got home and snapped the pic). Just as a reference, I took a drive with my wife yesterday on mostly 2 lane 40-50 mph roads with very few lights and was pretty much in 6th the whole time as it was a scenic drive with other cars to follow at around the speed limit most of the time. Anyway, pretty impressive mileage out of the JCW to generate that kind of range.

 

Can I call B.S. because no one on Long Island can ever reach 40 mph before having to hit the brakes.

 

That's definitely the norm, especially on any of the highways or anywhere on the western 2/3 of the island. The east end, particularly the north shore can be a nice drive. If you're familiar with the area at all, the stretch of road I'm referring to is 25A between Baiting Hollow and Orient Point, after the wineries were all closed.
