Props to Euro-Tire in Fairfield

My friend was stuck with her Mini last night. She has a 2006 MCS and a run-flat went bad and wouldn't hold air at all. We had it towed to Euro-Tire in Fairfield, left the key and figured we'd call first thing in the morning to figure out what to do.

They were wonderful. First, they put a takeoff on her car so she could make it to her appointment in Manhattan today. Then we talked about the qualities of run-flats vs regular and the different brands. She finally decided on the Continental run-flats (ease of mind vs cost) which will be in and installed Tuesday.

They took a potentially stressful situation for my friend and made it easy. For that I thank them and am posting here to let you know that they are professional and well worth the effort to support them for quality information and service.

I'm confused. Despite having run flats the car had to be towed. How does this give one ease of mind?

It is hard to say what happened as I wasn't there as it unfolded.

But she says that the tire monitor came on and she immediately started looking for air. She drove maybe two miles. When she got to a station the attendant noticed that the steel belts were popping out on the inside of the tire and it didn't hold any air. That couldn't have happened in two miles IMO. At that point I went to look and we decided that since the tire was coming apart and we had AAA, a tow was the better choice.
