Any MINI Mechanics/Owners ever encounter this???

I am having a serious issue with my navigation system. Anyone with any sort of idea on what to do would be awesome.

(It's an '05 R53)

Here's a video on it:

doesn't anyone have an idea to what this could be??? i can't use my bluetooth in the MINI anymore because of this and i do a lot of driving in new york which has a no cellphone law (unless you have a hands-free option) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

any dealer, mechanic, or anyone with any knowledge about what the problem could be, please try and help

It looks like the button is broken, since you keep pressing it and it doesn't do anything. I would take it to a dealer and have them replace the button...?

Did I miss something in the video?

thanks for the reply guitarfrk75, unfortunately the problem is that it's out of warranty, the dealer is very far away, i'm on the road every day, and i can't afford to not have a car while a dealer looks at it. i was hoping to find someone here who has seen this problem and/or knows what to do. i believe it could be the internal button that the menu button actually pushes, but i can't seem to find the diagram of it or a part number for it anywhere.

I've seen a couple of posts about the same problem, but no solution. You could try dismantling the system, but I would guess it's an internal contact issue.

I was hoping to find one of the MINI techs on here that might have seen this before and could enlighten me on the solution. I just don't have the time or even the ability to take it anywhere seeing as how I'm always on the road and they won't give me a loaner car for how far I drive in a day. I do all the work on my MINI myself and I just wish I could find out the answer. I've tried calling the MINI dealer and they say "Bring it in" but I'm unable to do that with how my job is and the service department is closed when I'm not working!
