stain on exterior paint
stain on exterior paint
I noticed a dried liquid on the back of our 2009 mini yesterday. My wife was a work and had the car in a parking garage when we think this occurred. I think when it rained a nasty mixture of water, oil/gas/whatever on the pavement, and rust from the garage structure dripped down through a crack or crevice and onto the car. I say this because the dried drops and drips have a rust/copper color that has an oil/gas sheen in the light.
I tried getting it off with some soapy water with limited success. I think I'll need something with a little more oomph, but I don't want to damage the paint on the car, and I'm really hoping that this hasn't done any damage to it already.
Any suggestions for what I should or shouldn't use.

thanks. I did try the clay bar. It helped but didn't get rid of everything. I ended up using a bug/tar/goo remover which did the trick and followed up with a second wash and wax of the entire car today.
With I had time to clay the entire car but I wanted to make sure I got the wax done before the car got exposed to the sun and high temps.
