I just wanted to post some information that some of you might find useful. I recently had to replace the CV boot strap on my '73 Mini because the strap had come off. The strap that came with a replacement boot was too short, so I had to find a strap of the correct length. The auto parts shops that I frequent didn't have good quality 'ear' style band clamps, but I did find some at NAPA.

I found these - generic 14.5" CV boot strap and the pliers used to correctly clamp the strap tight. Here's the part numbers for your reference:
