I'm curious about something and am hoping you all can help me.

I just placed the order for a new 2010 Cooper S. I chose the HK option.

So, it does come with both HK speakers AND an HK stereo as well right? Or who manufactures the stereo?

Speakers and amp are manufactured by HK

two different head units are made.

one for the NAV cars and one for the non Nav cars. Both are made by Apline.

HK does not make a head unit for the 2nd gen MINI's

I ordered these options:
- HK
- Satelite Radio

So it seems like the following is what I get:
- HK Amp
- HK Speakers
- ? Radio

So the Radio/Headunit/Stereo is Alpine?

(No navigation system)

But actually the headunit is much more than just a radio/cd player, it is also the CCC (central car computer) that handles all the display info in the speedo and tach. It can not be removed from the car.

 

I have those options and all I can tell you is this is the best factory stereo system I have ever heard its awesome, you will be very happy.
