Stall at speed??

Merging into traffic on the Kennedy and got jammed by a blonde in an Audi talking on her cell phone. Ran the shoulder briefly and hit a drain HARD. Car was still running but not responding and then died. Coasted backto the shoulder to figure out the problem as semi trucks roared by at 70mph.

Thanks to this Forum, I was able to extricate myself without assistance from the wrecker so I thought I would share the story to remind others...

Electrical all seemed fine and the starter was turning. 10 minutes of testing all that and scratching my head. Then I remembered reading about hitting a pothole hard and causing a fuel switch to disengage. Went under the bonnet to figure out where it was and touched it lightly on top and it clicked. Turned the key and was back in business!! Wound up passing the person that had just stopped to see if I needed help and then left.

The switch is a rubber covered item about the size of a small salt shaker. It is sqaure at the bottom and round on top and is mounted on the firewall that is right in front of the Driver.

Thanks again to the original person who posted this item in the past!!
