Are Cooper/Cooper S shocks identical?

Does anybody know if an R50 Justacooper shocks are the same as the R53 S if both cars were optioned with the sport suspension?

Thanks in advance.

I have an '03 R50 and an '06 R53. When I had my OEM springs changed from the MCS to TSW springs, I had the OEM '06 MCS springs installed on my MC and the ride and handling have greatly improved. Neither car, however, has a sport suspension. I was told at the time that the OEM springs from '05-'06 had been redesigned somewhat from the '02-'04 models. I don't know if this answers your question, but thought I'd offer my 2c since no one else has. All I know is that they fit and that no adjustments were made to make them fit.

Thanks, but the ride quality may have been better due to the redesign, or because the base shocks differ between the two models. If the base shocks differ, than I would think that the sport suspension shocks would also differ between the models. I appreciate your input, and it's good to know that they're 'plug 'n play'. I'm hoping some more eyes will see this thread when everybody heads back to work tomorrow, not that anybody surfs the web while on the job...
