Marin Headlands - NIKE Base tour 05-02-10
This will be a full day of eating and driving. There will be lots of twisty roads but many stops as well. The run map has been completed and is available to download. The total length of the run is almost 150 miles.
- We will be meeting up at and leaving from Two Niner Diner at the Petaluma Airport at 9:30am. Those of you that want to eat a fantastic Breakfast there, arrive 60-90 minutes early.
- The first 20 minute stop will be at Toby's Coffee Bar in Point Reyes Station (bathrooms across the street in a public park) at about 10:50am. From there we will head up to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the Marin Headlands.
- At map points 13-16, each member will be on your own. There will be plenty of time to stop and enjoy the view of the San Francisco Bay, stop at the Point Bonita Lighthouse, eat a picnic lunch, and check out the Nike Missile site. We will be leaving from the Marin Headlands Visitor Center by 2:10pm.
- The next 30 minute stop will be at the Mount Tamalpais State Park. We will be leaving from there by 3:20pm.
- The next 30 minute stop will be at or near Mc Nears Beach in San Rafael (point 25).
- The run will end at Sam's Roadhouse Diner in Novato at 5:15pm. Sign up separately to RSVP for dinner so we can get the management an accurate headcount.
