Tires

Just looking to switch to 17" wheels and want some recommendations on summer tires that would provide great handling, quietness, reasonable mileage and cost. Looking at Kumho Excta AST, Hankook V12, or Contental DWs.

I've been running 205/45-17 Michelin Pilot Exhalto PE2. They handle well in wet and dry. They aren't horribly loud, but not super quiet. Ride is reasonable for a tire of this profile.

If you are moving up from 15" or 16" wheels, you are going to get a harsher ride from 17". The main reason to go with 17" or 18" wheels is vanity. Any benefit from possible quicker turn-in is offset by the usually higher unsprung weight.

The customer revews on the Hankook V12 look good. I wonder when Tire Rack will get around to testing it?

If you see any snow proly the Kumho AST.
If no snow then the Hankook V12 EVO or the Michelin PE2.
Don't know about the Conti?
