Caliper Slider Pins - To Lube or Not to Lube?

The Bentley manual says to not lube the caliper slider pins, but my experience with other cars has been that lubing these parts is essential. However, with the other cars the slider pins were in metal bores, whereas with the Mini the interface seems to be metal-to-rubber. Assuming I don't swap to the brass bushing setup, is it truly best to leave the pins dry?

Thx.

Alan

Short answer - yes. If you apply lube rubber might get swollen and actually do more harm then good. And unless you track your car there is really no need for brass bushings.
