Does new 17" rims mean I need new tires?

I have the stock 09 MCS runflat tires. And im planning to buy rims but dont know if i need to buy new tires with it. And if i do which kind of tires would you guys recommend?

You don't need new tires. You will have to put the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensors in your new wheels though. Make sure the new wheels are TPMS compatible.

they vary right?

If your car came with 17" rims, they are most likely 7" wide. A large portion of the aftermarket rims are TPMS compatible. You can pick up a spare set if you want from many of the aftermarket vendors for around 225. Hope this helps.
