Brakes

The dealer had the brake pads and rotors changed upon my asking before I bought the 2007 MCS. The work was done by one of the Goodyear comapnies. The brake light, under the 2000 rpm, is on. I asked them to get the light off, but they keep on telling me that I need to reset the light. Is this correct? If yes, then can anyone help me with the process of how to reset this light? Goodyear says they changed the sensor cables and, upon reinspection, say that the sensor cables are installed correctly and that the problem is with resetting, which they do not know how to do. Mini says they will charge me for checking the system out as the brake work was not done by them. I am kind of stuck.

The maintenace section of the on board computer showed 1100 miles for the rear brakes and 8000 miles for the front brakes at the time I got the car. It is still showing the same figures even though I have driven the car almost 1000 miles. These should have been set to 0 after the brake pads and the rotors were replaced. How do I go about resetting these numbers so the computer can start the count once more?

Any help will be much appreciated.
