Hi, I have a base MINI (NON-S) and have some so-so stock 15" with Conti Pro Contact 2's which are bald after 11000 miles (I traded my 09 Corolla for this car at an odo of 9900 miles on the Mini, never thought to look at the tires-my bad-they're bald!).
I have rubber valve stems, but I do have TPMS. I was told the sensors are in the hub, so...where is the hub? the inside of the brake rotor? I was also told that I should be able to replace my stock 15" wheels all the way up to 18" with no modifications. That kinda sounded odd. I want maybe some 16" or 17". Do I need to know anything before calling tirerack.com or wheelfire.com? I like wheelfire in that there is not an addiditonal shipping charge. Is there anything I need to know? Will mpg suffer? I am at 30-33 city, and 42 hwy --very spirited style--almost wish I got the "S" but hate run flats. Thanks for any good info. Pat in SW WI
