Well, this will be the third in 2 1/2 years. The last crack was too big to treat from the get go. I rode a few months until it worked its way into driver's side.
Saved a few bucks by waiting. Down from $325 to $175 installed.
I think the one before this was like 18 months ago??? I was pleased by the price drop. You never know when the fourth one will be required.

 

Just put a new one in last week. 2nd for me. $100 deductible for each.

Cracked for no reason or because of road debris?

If you have State Farm insurance you can get a no deductible glass replacement rider for not very much $.
Well worth it.

 

Both replacements have been caused by road debris. The first one is funny, now. We were going to a casino in La, though some road construction. A truck headed the other direction kicked up a rock. Bang! The small divot in the middle of the windshield started a discussion about $50 chip and crack repairs. 2 minutes later the crack is all the way across from side to side.
So much for $50. Casino prolly got that anyway.
The last one got smacked from a small board kicked up about 2 miles from the dealership. Pretty much wrote that one off on impact.
My wife asked about the glass rider on our insurance....not sure why we didn't or can't get it.
