Activating Sirius in 2010 Cooper

Well this might sound like a really dumb question but I've tried 3 times to call and activate my factory installed Sirius in a new 2010 Cooper. I was told I could do it with the VIN but apparently that's not true. I have not been able to figure out how to find the radio ID number which is what they have told me they need when I call Sirius from the car.

Any advice?

When you turn your radio to Sat it should show a number called an ESN and be on channel 180 I think it is. The ESN is the number they are looking for. I don't have it built into my mini. I did in my BMW. I have a separate unit for the mini.
