I saw this on a thread before I actually owned a MINI, but now I can't find it. Can you tell me how to tell when my 2006 MINI S was built? I think I've at least figured out form the boards that it's an R53

I'm sure this has been asked a zillion times, but I'm not making much progress with search.

it's on the sticker in the drivers door jam. If that's gone call the dealer with your VIN and they can tell you too.

 

If you want the day, you'll have to call the dealer, but the sticker will give you the month and year.

Alternatively, if you are into taking stuff apart, you will find that nearly every part, interior part, or trim piece has a manufacture date on it. You'll find parts from up to a week before your actual build date, plus some on the day of. It will be a fun experience trying to figure out the build date by finding the most recent part.
