The radio doesn't store music. It just plays the music from your iPod.

Guess I could have been a little more helpful. You can attach your iPod to the radio using the iPod cable to the USB and Aux ports in the center console (if you have the USB option), in the glovebox (with the older iPod dealer option) or the iPhone (not any other iPod) can attach in the armrest (with the smartphone option and cradle). The radio head unit can then control the iPod.

Vigors, this is what I do, since I don't like lugging my Ipod everywhere. I bought a 8GB USB flash drive, transferred my music and left it plugged in my car. It works great.

vigors54,

As for iPod use the radio acts just as a controller for the iPod.

The manual is in very poor in its actual description of what it can do. But no where that i have every seen does it say it can 'download' an iPod's music. It does state that it can hold information on up to 2000 songs from a USB Stick.

These three posts will give you a lot more information and explain how the system works. If after reading them you have more questions feel free to ask.
